Bungay Skateboard Park
WORK BEGINS ON BUNGAY SKATEPARK
(Tuesday 31st August)
Work began today on the site of the Bungay Skatepark. Waveney Valley Asphalt have cleared the land and it is being levelled in preparation for the laying of an asphalt base.
The present work should take about two weeks to complete. Fencing will be erected
around the site immediately the asphalt is laid and the first pieces of equipment
for local skateboarders should be in place during the early autumn.

Funding of more than £40,000 has been raised to allow the project to be taken to its first stage: the clearing, levelling, asphalting, fencing and installation of the initial equipment including a Pyramid Funbox and Grind Box, seating and shelter facilities. Other equipment will be added as further funding is raised. Funding has been generously given by WREN, Local Network Fund. Awards for All, SRB Bungay Community Fund, and from public donations including sponsors of the recent Land's End to Lowestoft Sponsored Bicycle Ride.
Plans are in hand for a Rock Concert in St Mary's church and a T.Shirt logo design competition for the Skatepark.
