APOLOGIES: Chris Reeve, Gary Revell, Sue Curtis, Lisa Velba-gat.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Read, approved and signed.
MATTERS ARISING: NSPCC rep to be Penny Reeve. Still no secretary _ BJW and SR to continue as before.
Charity status enquiry means that the skate park has to be in the name of BYA which complicates the Council owning same and covering for insurance. It is possible for the council to sub-let land back to BYA to overcome this?
Community Network Fund requires two people to go on child protection course. SR to attend plus another.
Solar lighting details given to SD and RB for details of requirements.
SR reported that at an EDA meeting that afternoon, £15,000 funding was available for youth worker support—this would be primarily for the youth club but could have knock—benefits for the skatepark. Also talk of a youth bus which might be of interest.
Rock Concert - The date of 31st July is now not suitable. Sub-comm. To find new date (Friday?) and report back asap. MR offered cable from Butter cross Tearooms—many thanks.
Festival - SR asked if an entry for the parade was possible for the BYA. Decided a foot-entry with skateborders would be investigated. This paragraph to be clarified by CR at next meeting.
CORRESPONDENCE: Charity Status document from CR
PROJECT UPDATE: Waveney Asphalt have still not given starting date. SR to chase.
FINANCE: Mandate
for new treasurer taken by JG for completion.
Balance of £14,352 which with promised monies would make £36,238.17.
There will also be sponsored funds from BR and CS amounting to £860.50 at present
with more to come. The BYA wish to record their thanks for this huge effort
on their behalf.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
WDC has funding for Group Training. Suggested by DS that if we wished to do
a first aid course then St. John’s could be used for tuition.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING - THURSDAY 15TH JULY 2004. 7.30 P.M. AT CASTLE VISITORS’ CENTRE.
