About
the Church Firstly, it forms part of the United Bungay Circuit (which operates as a typical Methodist Circuit) under the direction of the Minister and two Circuit Stewards, Ann Eland and Stephen Johnston. The Circuit comprises three Methodist Chapels: Ilketshall St. Andrew, Rumburgh and Woodton, and two URC Chapels: Denton, Wortwell. The Denton Chapel shares its life with the Church of England members in the village, worshipping alternately at the Parish Church and at the Chapel. Secondly, its Ministry is provided alternately by the United Reformed Church and by the Methodist Church. Our previous Minister, Revd. Helen Mills came to us via the Methodist Church; our present Minister, Revd. Bruce Waldron came to us from the Uniting Church of Australia via the URC. Although the procedures by which a Minister is called differ slightly between the two traditions, the final decision is made by a United Meeting of the whole Circuit, in which everybody has a voice and comes to a decision by a free vote. On this site, we hope to share with you something of our history and traditions and beliefs; give you a description of the Sunday-by-Sunday and day-by-day activities of our Church; and post notice of events as they are about to occur. |
